Admission Process at the Holy State University
Our DoctrineEducational doctrine of the Holy State University is to enable any person to receive low cost education without any form of discrimination or restrictions; therefore, we have no any admission tests (see basic requirements for different degrees). We are offering all educational degrees: Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Doctoral (PhD), Graduate Certificate Programs - Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS), all in any desired by student areas of study (some restrictions apply). In the Holy State University we are creating future professional leaders that are mature and independent individuals willing to use own efforts in educational process. All studies are independent (no counseling, no individual or group tutoring). Students will be creating own study curriculum for each part of the year (with our supervision) and will be responsible for selecting study materials and textbooks. For assessment of studies, students will be sending to us written (in electronic form) essays reflecting student's knowledge of the subject. We are not trying to tell that students will do everything independently, we will control them, guide them, recommend right approach. Intelligent person needs very little guidance, this is why we are telling that we are creating future leaders that can navigate in this life with limited guidance. In our University, nobody needs any loans, our tuitions (donation levels) are extremely low (our operating costs are higher comparing to what students are paying). To be exact, we are not taking any money for education, but it is obvious that we must support our educational system and we collect mandatory donations per each educational year/credit. Mandatory donations are not what student wants to pay, but what we listed in our tuition costs. In the Holy State University, burden of responsibilities would be largely shifted to students. We will not force you to study; you must have your own desire for knowledge. We will be examining your work, but only you will be that person that can hold actual knowledge. Only your personal knowledge is that factor that will help you to find and to hold your future job. Incompetent person would be dismissed from the employment in any situation, irrelevant if he/she spends $200,000 for four-year degree, or only a few thousands. Only you personally can transfer your present dreams into reality and only your personal efforts to receive knowledge and your hard work can secure your future success! Student can study with own speed (see details in part “How fast you can Study” http://holyuniversity.org/educational_process.htm). Educational year can be completed as soon as in 6 months if student spends about 8 hours per day for studies (completion of the year of studies in 6 months does not indicate that student will pay only for half of the year - student pays for each academic year, irrelevant how quickly student can finish such academic year). Students of the Holy State University must be the people that know how to find their way in this life. If you are very dependent person that cannot do anything without additional guidance, supervision and monitoring, for these people, our University probably is not the right place. Our students do their work independently, they research comparable education plans, they select own textbooks, they study independently. With advances of Internet, very often, significant amount of information can be obtained free from online resources (including many online libraries). On another end, we will be receiving student's written work in the form of essays reflecting subject of study (e-mail correspondence), we will be examining student's work and if it is performed in satisfactory manner, we would issue appropriate educational credits. Obviously, we would supervise progress of education, we will be issuing proper recommendations and will be suggesting correct educational approaches, but we want to see how student can act independently and we would intervene if student deviates from the right directions. Our educational courses and disciplines (even when they do not carry clear religious name) directly associated with religious principles and in one way, or another, as reflected in the historical religious manuscripts. In addition to that, each student will be obligated to receive a few academic credits for religious studies (with student's personal preference for the number of credits or choice of religion to study), sufficient for issuance to each student upon graduation certificate of religious studies. Student will have personal choice for religious studies that can be performed in one religion, or in numerous world religions. All credits in religious studies will be fully counted for the required number of credits for each degree. According to the number of credits received for religious studies, students may have second diploma (in religious studies - two professions at the same time, for the same costs) upon graduation and can request from our Church (The International Church of Eternal Revival) ordination as a minister. You always can add religious studies as a form of second degree. All religious courses are part of the regular curriculum and fully counted toward number of required academic credits for each degree. We, on the basis of our religious doctrine originated from the founding rules of the International Church of Eternal Revival, believe that each person of the world must be educated in multiple aspects of this life. Each graduate of the Holy State University must at least have basic knowledge of religion(s), even if person himself/herself does not believe in the Supreme Power. Each our graduate will have personal choice to be ordained (upon request) by the Head of our founding church (or person designated by him), the International Church of Eternal Revival, as a practicing minister of any peaceful religion of the world. Admission process in the Holy State University is simple and easy. For admission, you will be asked to fill in application online or on printed form that you can scan and e-mail to us. We would request acknowledgement of our Disclosures - Educational Agreement. Always fill in "Subject" area in clear manner in any e-mail correspondence. If you are interested to start your studies at our University, when you are ready, please request Application form or download it from Application page (http://holyuniversity.org/application.htm). Student also must sign Educational Agreement. Agreement must be signed and notarized by notary (unless you have no notary in your area, or the cost of notarization is extremely expensive, but this is usually not a case in most circumstances). Upon completion, you need to forward to us completed application, educational agreement, application fee, all scanned copies of your educational credentials, starting from High School. After that, we will investigate your educational background. If you are not anticipating any problems with education verification, you can also pay at that time tuition fees in full, or 20% of the total yearly cost. Want to be admitted? Request Application form (or get it from our web site, see section "Application for Admission"), we will e-mail it to you in PDF format, fill all sections that are applicable to you. Type clearly (even with handwriting), so we can read it. Any written summaries or additional information you can attach on separate pieces of paper (generated on computer and printed). Scan completed application to PDF format and convert to PDF format any additional pages. Send all that to us by electronic mail. Attach all your educational documents scanned in JPG format (yes, in JPG format, we want to see some details, we also will do verification). We will not be reviewing your application, unless you submit application fee ($50 for undergraduate degrees, $75 for graduate degrees). If you you have genuine documents, we will admit you. Degrees received from some places without studies are similar to nothing in our place We are not taking into consideration any education received from so-called “universities” without any studies (for example, degrees for life experience), we are not taking into consideration any “honorary degrees”. We only consider hard-core personal studies, where student’s knowledge reflected in the form of degrees. If you received from other places honorary degree or degree for life experience, it is the same as no degree at all. We will admit you only for studies that correspond to the level of your real education. Be realistic in your desires If you have associate degree, you can not tell us that you want study for doctoral degree, there is chain of educational events. If you have associate degree, your next step would be bachelor’s degree. If you have bachelor’s degree, your next step would be Master’s degree (you can study for doctoral degree, but it would be two-year program after bachelor’s degree, or one-year program after master’s degree). If you want Ph.D. degree, you must have bachelor’s or master’s degree and length of studies is based on your initial degree. Plus, it usually customary that you study in graduate degree program the same (or similar) subject that you were studying in undergraduate degree program. It is not usually acceptable that you completed bachelor’s degree in teaching (for example), but after that you want to receive master’s degree in Religion. Your graduate degrees are always continuation of your undergraduate degrees. If you have bachelor’s degree in teaching and decided to study, for example Religion, you are not getting into master’s degree in Religion (because you never studied it before), but you can be admitted into bachelor’s degree program in Religion. If you want to switch between different areas of studies, for that we have credits evaluation service ($175 fee), we take all your previous credits in different studies, we evaluate them and can apply appropriate number for your new degree. Same example, you have bachelor’s degree in journalism and decided to study Religion, you are not getting into master’s degree in Religion (because you never studied it before). You can pay $175 fee for evaluation of your previous credits; obviously, part of credits can be transferred into your new degree in Religion. Because you never studied it before, you only can start from bachelor’s program in Religion (despite the fact that you already have bachelor’s degree in journalism), but because we would transfer some credits from journalism degree into bachelor’s degree in Religion, you can finish it in shorter time and after getting bachelor’s degree in Religion, you can continue into master’s degree in Religion. The same approach applies to any other studies. Another example, but with different approach. You have bachelor’s degree in journalism and decided to study journalism in master’s degree program, in this case, you have no restrictions, because your initial degree was similar to your future studies. With business degrees situation is different Business studies can be applied to any subject of many activities. Therefore business degree can follow any previous degree. For example, you are a teacher, doctor, lawyer, etc. (any person with bachelor’s degree or higher) and you want to start studies directly in master’s degree program in Business (for example, Master of Business Administration), this will be possible, because business degree can follow any previous degree with assumption that you will be studying business approaches related to your previous studies. For example, you are a teacher with bachelor's degree. You will be admitted to the Master of Business Administration program to study business administration and business principles applicable to the education, teaching, etc. We have no time to consult all people on individual basis, therefore, please use principles described above. Application fees are not refundable. If you want degree that is not applicable to your situation, you just will not be able to get it. You will have an option to send us e-mail describing your situation (it is up to you how much information you want to provide, but our answer would be based on information that you gave to us) and you can ask us for what degree you can study (including your desired degree). You will get basic, a few lines answer that will be contingent on examination of your documents, but we are not examining any of your documents before you submit application fee together with application, your resume and all required documents. Application fee is $50 U.S. for undergraduate studies and $75 for graduate studies (see section Cost of Education for any changes in costs). Your application will be reviewed by admission department and if we find it acceptable, you will be asked to submit initial payment of at least 20% of the yearly tuition cost. If you are applying for any degree, please be informed that we can accept your credits from other institutions only if such credits are received from the college or university where degrees are issued after required studies. Acceptance of credits from other institutions is strictly at our discretion. Please be advised that Holy State University offers no guarantees of any employment, level of salary, eligibility for professional licensing or acceptance of degrees and programs by your employers. If your employers would have any questions about your education, please refer them to our web site that explains process of education. Required documents and application fees1. Application Form 2. Your Professional Resume. 3. Clear photograph of your face scanned in JPG format. 4. Official translation of all educational documents that are not in English language. 5. Scan in JPG format all your educational diplomas, transcripts, certificates (we are requesting JPG format to examine details of your documents that sometimes not visible on black and white PDF scans). You must include at least one document issued by official authorities in your country with you photograph attached (driver’s license, passport, etc.). 6. Educational Agreement signed in front of Notary (with attached notary seal). We may waive requirement for notarization if you have no notary where you live, or because notarization is too expensive. 7. Application fee. If your education and diploma(s) are genuine and received because of previous studies, you will be admitted, therefore, you can submit educational payment combined with application fee. (you must be able to speak and write in English). 8. If your application is approved we require initial payment for at least 20% of the total tuition cost for the year, or you can pay entire balance in full, if desired (this can provide some savings on payments costs). Age of Our StudentsAny age is the good age... The Holy State University has no limits, just one, starting age is 15 years old (if person is matured enough). Our research indicated that individual has ability to utilize his/her intellectual potentials at young age and 15 years is a reasonable age. Even if you are 90 years old, we will be happy to have you as our student. For some forms of education we have no requirements for high school diploma. For other forms of degrees, starting from associate degree, we require High School diploma, but only as a condition for the receiving degree. In another words, any person, starting from the age of 15 years can be our student in any of our degree programs, for example, associate or bachelor's, but the degree from the Holy State University would not be awarded, unless person can provide satisfactory proof of the completion of high school or equivalent education. This approach of the Holy State University can open unlimited opportunities for many individuals. Many people will be able to receive college degree almost at the time when they would graduate from the high school. Any person under age 18 (minor) must provide notarized affidavit from parents or guardians (including documents establishing parent(s) or guardian(s) relationship to minor), giving his/her consent in writing with clear details describing parents/guardians responsibilities for providing payments on behalf of minor. Parents/legal guardians must also execute educational agreement in their names on behalf of minor (all forms would be provided). Identification
To establish identity of person, we are requiring submission of
notarized copy of passport (pages with full name and date of
birth) or birth certificate (in absence of passport), plus
notarized copy of any official document with photograph of the
prospective student (in absence of passport). All documents must
be translated into English.
Payment ArrangementsHow you can pay? Any person at the age 18 and older can provide payments on his/her behalf. Any person under age 18 (minor) must provide notarized affidavit from parents or guardians (including documents establishing parent or guardian relationship with minor), giving his/her consent in writing with clear details describing parents/guardians responsibilities for providing payments on behalf of minor. We accept payments made with major credit cards, bank debit cards, check payments by mail, electronic transfer to our bank. Student can pay balance for the year in full or in increments of 20% of the full cost (for the year) and can continue to pay as study progresses. Payment in full may create some savings on bank processing fees. Usually student pays in own currency and during payment processing bank converts student’s currency into U.S. Dollars. Payments can be made by credit or debit card. Payments can be made by bank transfers from student’s bank into our bank. Student also can mail personal bank check from his/her own bank (or official bank check) to our mailing address (international mail delivery may take very long time, up to a month and check must be fully cleared in our bank, this may take additional 2-3 weeks). Payments can be made by Western Union or MoneyGram transfers (it is not our desired method of payments, but we can accommodate request from student only if payment is made for the half of the year or for entire year). How much education cost? See page "Cost of Education". All payments are donations for our founding Church (International Church of Eternal Revival) and in many countries, donations to religious establishments can be deducted from income taxes. Donations are not refundable, but student will receive all educational services that are covered by such donation. Unable to calculate payment amount? Send us electronic letter (e-mail) Transfer StudentsTransfer students will be accepted for any studies at our University More SuggestionsOur students must have internet access, ability to scan documents in PDF and JPG formats and need to have anti-virus program. Please be sure that your computer has no computer viruses. Student's written work must be sent preferably in PDF format. It is required for each student to install up-to-date antivirus program (that has automatic viruses’ database updates) on his/her personal computer used for preparation and for sending to us educational summaries of studied courses. Student can obtain excellent antivirus program “Microsoft Security Essentials” absolutely free from Microsoft web site (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials). Student will have choice of downloading this program in many languages, not just in English (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials/download). We prefer to see student’s written work to be converted to PDF format and be attached to e-mails during educational process (if student is unable to obtain PDF converting software, he/she can make attachments in Microsoft Word format. Each e-mail from student must have at least short cover letter explaining what documents are attached. Student can find many places on Internet that are converting files to PDF format for free, there also are many sites on Internet offering free PDF converting software for download (please use sites with good rating to avoid spreading of viruses). To open PDF files that we can send to student, student must have PDF reading software installed on student’s computer. Adobe offers free download of genuine software, such as Adobe Reader (but free version is not converting to PDF, only opens PDF files), you can search Adobe web site for compatible free version for your computer operating system (http://get.adobe.com/reader/).
SummaryStudent must have access to unlimited Internet (preferably with high speed), this is where starts student’s research - from the access to Internet. Student can search what other students are studying in other universities, what courses and subject they are using, what textbooks are used for each course. It takes time and this is why your access to Internet must have no time limits. We are creating future leaders and these people must be able to find everything they want. If you cannot work independently, then you need to pay $25,000 - 40,000 per year in other universities where they can give you everything on the lists, but you will be paying for tuition loans for the rest of your life… How much cost education in the Holy State University? See page "Cost of Education" for current rates per academic year, plus there always would be application fee, graduation fee, reexamination fees, transfer fees (if you are transferring in the middle of year and not starting your degree from the beginning). There also can be some additional fees. (see section “Cost of Education”). We can increase prices at any time, but if you are enrolled, you will be getting the same cost per year (as at the moment of your enrollment) to the time of your graduation. If we decrease the price (that is unlikely), then student can continue to pay lower price in future payments. Questions that we are receiving Based on questions that we are receiving, many individuals are confused and are assuming that we are just giving free education to anybody in the world, endlessly tutoring all students and giving away for free all study materials and all textbooks. We probably would like to do that, but so far richest people of the World never donated to us anything of any value and we need to support our activities. When we are telling that we are not charging anything for education, we are not telling that we are running "all-for-free" place for all people that are not willing to spend anything for education. NOTHING in this World is absolutely free, even air that every person breathes is not free, as people may assume. Religious establishments are not created to support all people that are looking for free giveaways, everything must have its value. We definitely are collecting mandatory donations. Please do not be confused about word “donations”. Donation is not what student is willing to pay (because most people would say that they want everything free). Donations can be described as something that is used for greater goods (for example charitable activities). Mandatory donations are what student MUST pay to the religious organization (for activities of such organization), or there would be no any admissions for such person. We hope, that we explained this subject in very clear manner. What students must have Knowledge of English language Ability to speak and write in reasonable English language. We are not asking for perfection, but if you hardly speak any English, your definitely not suitable to do studies in English language. In such case, you can obtain degree in English language in our University first, and later you can study additional subjects. If your writing is nor perfect, Microsoft Word program for English language has automatic spelling and grammar correction option and with time, you can improve your language skills. Ability to study independently We are examining student’s work, but for listed tuition costs, we definitely are NOT tutoring students in studies’ details. If someone prefers counseling services, then his/her tuitions would be not what we are requesting (See page "Cost of Education"), but $8000 per year (that is low level cost for the studies in most online universities, with average of $12000 per year and up to $42000 - $65,000 per each year in some places, where even with such outrageous prices, most people would never be admitted). Feel free to pay $8000 per year if you are not able to study independently and we gladly would assign supervising teacher to you. Do we provide study materials and textbooks? For our very low tuitions (correctly to say donations level) per year that are not covering even the cost of each student management, we definitely are not providing any textbooks or study materials. Feel free to pay additional $1800 per year (or whatever it cost at retail price) and we will select all required textbooks and will mail it to you. With achievements of internet and with many online libraries (some are free, some have fees), students can get significant amount of information without buying actual textbooks. Free public libraries are still exist almost in every city in the world. Do we have own online library? No, we have no online library, please search the Internet and you will find many online academic libraries with reasonable fees. This is what can be defined as independent study Student selects own textbooks, student buys own textbooks (or student searches for study materials on internet according to course of studies), student selects own curriculum (and we will check if it is suitable), student studies at home. Sometimes, instead of buying books, student can use online libraries (usually they are not free, please do your research). Regular free public libraries still exist around the world, therefore students can use these libraries. When student finished studies for the course, he/she sends to us written summaries of studies (every enrolled student will get detailed instructions). We are examining it, we are evaluating it and we are making decision how many credits such studies can generate for student and if studies are completed in proper manner. We may issue additional recommendations and corrections if needed. Do you need to be American citizen to study at the Holy State University? Absolutely NOT. It is irrelevant where you live and what kind of citizenship you have. We are international university for all people around the world. Location of our main offices in the United States never made our INDEPENDENT SOVEREIGN RELIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL ENTITY (with own religious Government) subordinate of any country or state in the World. We also have administrative locations in some other selected countries. All our encounters with any government unrelated to us are only in the form of diplomatic relationships, according to the provisions of International Law. What is recognition of our degrees? Our location in the United States never made us, as an institution that belongs to the Sovereign International Religious Entity, subordinate of any country (including U.S.). We have our own religious government and obviously, we are not under control of any other, not related to us government. Only our own government can accredit or control our religious educational institutions. Your diploma or degree would be recognized as a degree received from independent international religious University (Holy State University). In the United States, online education cost the same (and sometimes more) as education in real-life universities and costs are getting into absolutely ridiculous numbers. Postgraduate programs have customary range of costs between $500 to $1,200 per each educational credit, plus endless additional charges for different services (cost of graduate programs in U.S. can be between $25,000 to $65,000 per each year). Obviously, universities that are charging each student $65,000 per year, would be well recognized and known for their ridiculous prices (that in the [wrong] mentality of some people is equal to the level of public recognition). Such money-harvesting institutions can also spend millions of dollars on advertising and publicity. In our place your education is free, whatever we are collecting in the form of mandatory donations is not covering real cost of each student management and we are covering our real costs from our other religious activities. If you are looking for some king of special recognition, we would suggest going to the most expensive universities. But if you are visiting Holy State University, it can be assumed that you have no desire to pay $25,000 - $65,000 per year for studies. So far, it appears that many people want low cost education and at the same time want high recognition. In real life, it is not possible, unless you live in country where education is free and supported by taxpayer’s monies, but getting into postgraduate programs is usually very difficult in any country (in our place, you have no this problem). In the Holy State University, you will be paying only small fraction of what other people are paying in different places. You will study and you will get real education. Your diploma will be real because it would be based on your real education. We cannot give orders to students’ future employers, but it is considered to be a form of discrimination if someone tells that they are looking for people that graduated from some other preferred (by employer) places and you can bring to court violators discriminating you. We have no plans to go out of “business” (correct word would be not a "business", but "charitable activities" because offering low cost education is a form of charity) for the next few millenniums, or even longer. We are openly describing principles of education in the Holy State University and any potential employer can go online to see what it is. What are your Steps to be admitted? Study each page on our web site before you ask any additional questions (almost all questions can be answered after that). We are not taking into consideration any education received from so-called “universities” without any studies, we are not taking into consideration any “honorary degrees”. We only consider hard-core personal studies, where student’s knowledge reflected in the form of degrees. If student received somewhere honorary degree or degree for life experience, for us it is similar to no degree at all. If you have no degrees, you still can study, but you will be starting from associate/bachelor's degrees. Still confused? Send us electronic mail with details of your question. We will not do any free evaluation of your credits, but we can give you an answer contingent on future evaluation of your education, degrees, credits, etc. Please note that credits evaluation fee only applies when you are switching from one subject of studies to another, or if you are transferring to us in the middle of degree studies from other place. OK, you are figured what you want and what degree you like. What is NEXT? Send us Admission Application (that must have your resume attached), all your scanned documents, application fee. After examining your entire application file, we will make final decision. Admission Application and Admission Agreement you can find on our page "Application for Admission". How you can pay? Any person at the age 18 and older can provide payments on his/her behalf. Any person under age 18 (minor) must provide notarized affidavit from parents or guardians (including documents establishing parent or guardian relationship with minor), giving his/her consent in writing with clear details describing parents/guardians responsibilities for providing payments on behalf of minor. We accept payments made with major credit cards, bank debit cards, check payments by mail, official money orders, electronic transfer to our bank. Student also can mail personal bank check from his/her own bank (or official bank check, money order) to our mailing address (international mail delivery may take very long time, up to a month and check must be fully cleared in our bank, this may take additional 10-15 days for checks from foreign banks). Payments can be made by Western Union or MoneyGram transfers. This is NOT our preferred method of accepting payments and we only will use it for payments for the entire year or at least for half year.
